I was really excited to try this place with all of the great reviews. I was happy with my shrimp tacos, but I was the only person in my party happy with my meal. The corn on the cob looked great, but didn't taste good. It seemed like it was previously frozen-mushy instead of crisp. The Parmesan was also not fresh. My husband had the shipwreck burrito and wasn't impressed with the pork. The potato salad was very good. My daughter had a chicken taco and didn't finish it, which says a lot. Her sweet potatoes were tasty, but on the super sweet side. I love super sweet, but some people don't. Overall, the food was average. The atmosphere was nice being right across from the beach with an awesome breeze, but I couldn't imagine sitting out in front during peak heat for lunch.

I don't yelp that often, but this little treasure was some of the best seafood and BBQ brisket I have had. EVER! Others at the tabled tried different things and everyone loved it. They smoke stuff fresh daily, so get there early for best selection. It's a little shack with outdoor seating, friendly staff and umbrella picnic tables with a view of the ocean! Very tasty and one of my favorite finds! Thanks fellow yelp-sters for all the recommendations. Spot on!

Agree with all 4+ star reviews. Location is perfect. Had brisket platter, my son, the longboard burrito. Sides were good & a decent kick in the collard greens. Wonderful find! Thank you, CC!!

Went today for the first time and had lobster/shrimp tacos. My family also had crab/shrimp tacos and a mahi sandwich which all got rave reviews. They were all fantastic! Highly recommend Crabby Chris's. Great local joint!

Great food and service. I am from out of town and I came here on the recommendation of my sister in law. I had a really hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to eat. The menu is amazing! I had the longboard burrito and the chipotle cheese corn on the cob. It was well worth the money! There is a great view of the Atlantic. I want to come back and try everything on the menu!

Showed up on our last day in town at 6pm and they were basically out of everything. So disappointing. Will definitely not depend on this place when I'm back in town.

The food I had was pretty tasty. I had a burnt ends sandwich and my wife had pulled pork. I really liked all the flavors and they were topped with a nice slaw. I also had a lemonade that is hand squeezed goodness. They were out of a few items and they had some interesting seafood tacos and burritos. I look forward to eating here again.

Second visit to this place & the food was just as good as the first! The brisket was to good to stay away from, so I had it again. The folks with me had the longboard burrito, crab tacos & lobster tacos. This time we also got the cheesecake on a stick; OhMy Goodness it was great!!! While we were ordering, it began to storm, the owner came out in the rain to bring our food to us. You can't get service better than that!

Food was amazing and the staff was bad ass! Had the tortuga burrito (huge), wife and one daughter had the Mahi Mahi tacos, and my two youngest had the Bar b Q sandwiches. Everything was devoured! The raspberry lemonade was the bomb and all my daughters could talk about was the coconut and mango gelato desert ( I did not even get to see it or try it). Stop in and have a great time! Thank-you for the absolutely delicious food and the great customer service! If we ever are in the area again, this will be a stop for us! As many parents know, pleasing your kids with food is difficult, especially with three daughters, not one complaint as it was a quiet meal with everyone's mouth full of food! Ty for the shot! It was smooth all the way down!

I love everything about this place! The atmosphere, menu, location. Love the BBQ/Seafood gimmick and the quirky logo. If I ever started a restaurant I would go with a similar kind of style this place has. I had heard a lot of good things prior to my visit and was really excited to try it out. It lived up to the hype! I tried the burnt ends sandwich(brisket, pork, slaw, pickles), shipwreck borrito(pulled pork, Mac n cheese, slaw, pickles), collard greens, corn on the cob and mac n cheese. For the most part it was all incredible! The mac n cheese was just average but the collards were damn good! Bursting with flavor n nice n spicey! The burnt ends sandwich was also amazing! I can not wait to try everything else on this menu! And holy crap I can't wait for summer to spend my days on the beach with some of Crabby Chris's dank grub! Only wish they served beer.

Both times I have been there food has been fresh and good. As long as that doesn't change I will keep going back.

What can I say about the Daytona 500 and Crabby Chris' taco and bbq joint that hasn't already been said! They do a huge takeout business! At night it's windy and cool. Outside seating only at large picnic tables. Offer a space for others if there is only two of you at the table. So here is the disappointing part: the food. Ribs are big, not spare ribs. Sad and chewy. Out if corn. Substituted overcooked and bland collards. The dragon roll burrito....I'm sad the tuna is over salted and the rest of the weird ingredients didn't go together. Chow mein noodles? The weird pink sauce near the rice in the burrito was good. Side dishes need uber-improvement. Bbq bacon potato salad underwelms. Bacon bits? Really? Coleslaw needs salt, a dressing and more pineappppple. Poor scared sous chef...flavor that bowl!!! The best was the chopped cucumber and tomato salad with red onion. Again, needs salt and a healthy dose of ANY kind of vinegar. Do not keep in the frigerator and it will marinade famously. Seriously did not crucify the food but for the ambiance and kitschy.ness of it.

As a Marylander, it's so difficult to find good seafood in other places of the world. I'm spoiled, I suppose. Nonetheless, this place is awesome. You get quality and quantity, the Mahi sandwich the lobster and shrimp tacos sides The view? Highly recommend trying this local hideaway. Superb.

My wife and I had awesome meals at Crabby Chris' last night. I had the bbq shrimp and lobster taco. It couldn't have been any better. Fresh shrimp & lobster, a little spiciness with the bbq. Just perfect. My wife had the bbq ribs, very tender, just enough kick and grizzle. The meat fell off the bone. Great casual atmosphere. Outside eating on Picnic tables with umbrellas. Right on A-1-A with a great ocean view. A truly wonderful, casual dining experience.

I had my first taste at the King of the Grill competition at Rockefeller Gardens. I had the brisket platter and my son had the pulled pork. Both were very good. Next time we ran into them at Riverfest at Rockefeller Gardens and we had their pie on a stick. WOW! They take a variety of homemade pies, slice them, insert a Popsicle stick, dip in chocolate, then freeze it. It was incredibly delicious. I've had lunch at their Ormond Beach location twice now. First time I had the Brisket sandwich with their famous BBQ potato salad. It was great. Today I walked over and grabbed a Mahi Burrito and a side of collards. It was very good again. I will eventually make my way over to their New Smyrna Beach location but until then, I'm happy they are here on the beach in Ormond so close to my house!

We love Crabby Chris! Excellent BBQ, seafood and burritos in a beautiful beachside location. Perfect location for locals and visitors. Very casual. Only outside picnic benches, but that is part of the charm of this beachside location. Walk across street to beach after eating. . . They do run out of items fairly frequently, but there is so much good food you will find many options to suit your fancy.

My wife and I decided to try this spot for lunch one day after hitting the beach. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich... It was delicious, great BBQ smoky flavor! I had the tortuga burrito, the Mahi was seasoned and cooked to perfection. One of the best lunch spots in the area! Will be back soon!

Blackened Mahi tacos were excellent! Great flavor and 2 good sized tacos. The fresh squeezed cherry limeade is also very good!!! We will definitely be back!

Can't beat this place to stop as you make your way down the A1A! I was in Jacksonville and my Fiance and I were meeting someone from Clermont and were looking for a good halfway point to meet. Doing some Yelp research, I came across Crabby Chris and decided to give it a go. They definitely didn't disappoint. I think my favorite thing about this place was the location. You can't beat the outdoor seating directly across from the ocean. The food was awesome too! I ordered a burrito with pulled pork, slaw, and Mac 'n cheese, I think it was called the shipwreck. All the flavors blended perfectly to create an amazing burrito. Also a nice selection of beers to accompany any dish. I guess the downside to this place could be the fact that there isn't any indoor seating if the weather goes south. Luckily, we didn't have that issue. All in all, a solid 5 stars.

Average experience average food probably won't go out of my way to return...Im a huge smoked BBQ fan always eat it in CHitown and NYC...The chicken wasn't even hot....It looked like they cooked the food like at their home and brought it in... But loved the view and setting...

Love the laid back beach atmosphere. Sweet BBQ sauce is out of this world. 4 stars because they were out of several food items (pulled pork and shrimp). However, the pulled chicken sandwich was amazing... Mahi tacos were good.. And pulled chicken nachos were surprisingly delicious. Definitely a place to check out :).

Chris, I appreciate the offer and that you obviously do care very much about pleasing your customers. You have made your little spot there very attractive and appealing and I think it's fast becoming a fixture in the area. I have adjusted my rating because I think my disappointment over the ribs may have skewed my view of the tacos, which really deserve five stars. Also, while your brisket is not my favorite, I'd give it three stars, not zero, so to call your barbecue zero stars was not really fair either, and I apologize. That day I only ordered the ribs, so I based my review on that. Maybe I am picky about my barbecue and I'm sure my taste is not universal, but... I like barbecue to have a "bark" of some sort. A crispy exterior. To be brown on the outside. Ribs should be cleaned and trimmed of excess fat, membranes, etc. before cooking. Even an ordinary oven could have browned the ribs, but these seemed to have been only boiled or steamed and they were the same on two separate visits. I hope you will please start using that grill for the ribs and work on getting a reputation for the best ribs in the county. I think my local favorite is Daytona Pig Stand. I will try your ribs again at some point in the future and update if there is evidence that they have touched a grill.

What can I say? Crabby Chris is the bomb. Have eaten here several times and every time the food was fantastic. Most of the restaurants in Ormond Beach serve standard fare for the older folks but Crabby Chris serves modern cuisine n a casual environment.
